Dimurei.com is the voice of the Garifuna community. Dimurei.com is an online quarterly magazine, a research institute, a foundation and an arts and culture incubator. The arts and culture incubator aims to nurture artists, writers, arts and cultural leaders through conferences, workshops, symposiums and scholarships.
Dimurei.com is a non-profit organization. It is managed by an editorial board. The board is comprised of members of the Garifuna community as well as professionals of varied interests. They are charged with preserving Garifuna culture. They are also charged with ensuring that Dimurei.com is owned and operated by members of the Garifuna community.
At Dimurei.com our goal is to publish at least 25% of the articles in the Garifuna language.The magazine will be published primarily in English with articles made readable in Spanish and other languages using Google Translate. We will endeavor to make all publications available to the hearing and visually challenged. We intend to make available many of our articles, photographs, videos and music free of charge to students, scholars and researchers. A reasonable fee will be charged for full length articles, permission to reprint, and copyrights.Dimurei.com is based in Los Angeles.
The online magazine serves the members of the Garifuna community residing in St. Vincent, Dominica, Guyana, Trinidad, Honduras, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Belize, the United States, Canada and England. We welcome comments and submissions from anyone interested in sharing quality information with our readers.
