Time Speaks
Charles C. Lino, Pharm.D.

Time pushes against the clock
My half-opened eyes
are like the rainbow
that brushes against the skies
The new beginning
marks the end of time
Merges like the yellow brick road

Winding not, unsteady not,
unyielding not
Fading into my rear view mirror
Where the sun subsides
Along the crest of evening

Where evening subsides
along the crest of waters
whose calm speaks to all,
including the dead
where happy larks lurk……
And pelicans dive incessantly
Head first plunging into the deep blue sea

Me, you, us, all the same……
Non-immortal beings
descending upon (earth)
Where voices seemingly immortal
degrades another
Then the other goes silent……
Brushes of twilight wind
Trickling into my non-winding path

The nestling of dried leaves
rest upon sidewalks
Some day they will grow
like great trees grow
Taller than sprouts
that scream and shout
Voices that only fall guys know

Spread my wings across earth
Rest like birds rest in their nest
Sleep like babies sleep into dawn
When their mother’s bosoms are near
With eyes close to bare

Taste the flavor that tomorrow brings
It sizzles, melts, radiates
the aroma of pancakes
Behold! A fresh morning start……
